Writing Retreat Housing Options

The first step in the registration process is to determine your housing preference. We have only a few single rooms available, and we’ll fill requests  in the order of registration. Here are the options, as well as the all-inclusive cost to participants, depending on room type.

 

Prices are all inclusive, except for an optional $12/person canoe or kayak rental fee.

Single Room

We have a limited number of single rooms. A few have a private bathroom, but most share a bathroom with one or two other bedrooms.

**All single bedrooms are in the Retreat House or Adult Cabins.**

Double Room

These rooms are very much like a hotel room with two beds. In short, you’ll be sharing a room with a fellow writer. None of these rooms has a private bathroom; you’ll be sharing with one or two other bedrooms.

Dorm Style

If you have fond memories of Boy or Girl Scout camp, this might suit you. The dorms have old-school bunk beds in a common room. This sleeping situation might put you in contact with other people who are at Dayspring for other events running concurrently in other parts of the retreat center. Dorms have shared public bathrooms.

 

Note: You’ll need to bring your own linens or rent them from DaySpring.

It will ask you about room and dietary preferences, allergies, choice of roommate (if any), one of your traditionally published picture books, etc.

 

Once we’ve confirmed your book and checked our lodging availability, we’ll email you an invoice and a PayPal payment link.
 

A nonrefundable $100 deposit will hold your place until November 30, 2024.

 

  • On November 30, we require full payment (price depends on your lodging choice). If you don’t follow through, we’ll keep your deposit and open the space to someone on our waiting list.
  • Anyone who pays in full by October 15 will be entered into a raffle for a basket of books from Bushel & Peck Books
  • If you pay in full but need to withdraw before November 30, we’ll refund your money, minus $100.
